Magee Marsh Bird Sightings

What a gorgeous March day!!! Lots of GC Kinglets and Fox Sparrows today. Also a lot of flckers! The following were seen or heard today at Magee Marsh:
Pied-Biled Grebe, DC Cormorant, Great Blue HEron, Great Egret, Trumpeter Swan, Canada Goose, Mallard, Gadwall, GW Teal, BW Teal, N. Shoveler, Wood Duck, L. Scaup, Hooded Merganser, Common Mergansier, Turkey Vulture, Bald Eagle, AM Coot, Killdeer, Ring-billed gull, Mourning Dove, Belted Kingfisher, N. FLicker, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Downy Woodpecker, E. Phoebe, Tree Swallow, Black-capped Chickadee, WB Nuthatch, Brown Creeper, Winter Wren, Carolina Wren, Am Robin, E. Starling, Red-Winged Blackbird, Rusty Blackbird, C. Grackle, BH Cowbird, E. Towhee, N. CArdinal, Dark-eyed Junceo, AM Tree Sparrow, Fox Sparrow, Song Sparrow, House Finch, AM Goldfinch, House Sparrow

A windy and somewhat wet day today…….the following birds were seen or heard:
Canada Goose,Tundra Swan, Trumpeter Swan, Wood Duck, Gadwall, A. Wigeon, Am. Black Duck, Mallard, Bufflehead, Hooded Merganser, Common Merganser, Bald eagle, N Harrier, Cooper’s Hawk, Mourning Dove, Belted Kingfisher, Downy Woodpecker, Hairy Woodpecker, American Crows (over 200 flying overhead!), Black-capped chickadee, Carolina Wren, Winter Wren, Am Robin, E Starling, Am Tree Sparrow, Dark-eyed junco, N Cardinal, Red-winged Blackbird, Common Grackle, House Finch and House Sparrow

When the snow crunches and the boardwalk cracks, you know that it is cold out!! Thanks to Chris Knoll for helping with the monthly Bird Count today!
We saw or heard the following:
Double-crested Cormorant, Tundra Swan, Canada Goose, Bald Eagle, Mourning Dove, Hairy Woodpecker, Downy, Blue Jay, Black-capped Chickadee, White-breasted Nuthatch, Brown Creeper, Golden-crowned kinglet, European Starling, Northern Cardinal, Dark-eyed Junco, Am. Tree Sparrow, SOng Sparrow, American Goldfinch and House Sparrow

Great Day to be oustide today!!! Saw 4 beautiful Fox Sparrows on the trail behind the Bird Center. Thank to Shane for his help this morning!
